Teaching Assistant (Part Time)
We have a vacancy for a class-based teaching assistant starting on 2nd November 2020. The position will be for one year initially, 30 hours per week (8.30a.m – 3p.m), term time only plus 5 staff development days (39 weeks p.a.)
Duties will include working with Class Teachers and other members of staff including Speech Therapists and the SENCO to support the learning of individuals, small groups and whole classes of pupils.
All candidates should have a high standard of spoken and written English and Mathematics. They should be good and effective communicators with children and adults, friendly and approachable, flexible and adaptable, able to work on their own initiative and with good time management skills. A sense of humour also helps!
Candidates should also have some experience or relevant qualifications/training relating to supporting learning in school.

Information about the school
Wincheap Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Canterbury, close to routes into London, Ashford, Maidstone and Dover and within easy walking distance of the City Centre. The school is well resourced and occupies a large site with its own playing fields and Forest School. There are approx 440 pupils on roll.
The school offers its pupils a broad and balanced curriculum with an emphasis on the arts and has a specialist designation with a speech, language and communication department on site.
